Content Areas

Content proposals should fall under one of the following five content areas:

  • Reducing Disparities in Health Outcomes — Recognizes initiatives that measurably reduce disparities in health outcomes, advance care for all populations and highlight the economic impact of reducing health disparities.
  • Leveraging Data to Drive Health Impact — Focuses on leading practices in data assessment, integration and analytics to prioritize population and community health needs, uncover and quantify the economic value of addressing health disparities, and guide data-driven targeted interventions.
  • Care Delivery Transformation — Covers the work being done to redesign care models to address health and social needs – including for expecting mothers, children, people with disabilities and older adults – by delivering services where people live and thrive.
  • Strengthening Cross-Sector Partnerships — Highlights strategies for building and sustaining effective partnerships between health care systems, public health agencies and community-based organizations to support the health and well-being of patients and community members.
  • Centering Communities in Health Solutions — Covers the process of actively engaging patients and communities in the co-design of health programs and interventions to ensure solutions are responsive, accessible and sustainable.

Speaker Eligibility

AHA Member Hospitals and Health Systems — Presenting hospital and health system must be AHA members. You can confirm your organization’s membership status using the AHA Guide. All submissions must include one AHA Member organization as a presenter.

Public Health, Community Health and Nonprofit Organizations — Public health or community health and nonprofit organizations may submit a proposal in conjunction with AHA member hospital or health system.

Vendors, Technical Assistance Providers and Consultants — To preserve the integrity of the conference experience, AHA has a policy of not selling services, products or future consulting assignments during presentations. Vendors, technical assistance providers and consultants may not serve as submission/session presenters. Submissions that feature vendors, technical assistance providers or consultants as presenters or contributors will not be included in the submission review process.

Partner Programming— Vendors, technical assistance providers and consultants who wish to present their work during this conference are eligible to sponsor a partner programming session. Partner programming sessions provide sponsors with the opportunity to design one educational session to occur during conference. Session content must be non- commercial in nature, support the program’s theme and focus areas, and requires approval by the conference planning team. The sponsor will develop the presentation and recruit AHA member hospital/health system participants.
